[ He never thought this day would come.
This day, one so special to so many humans, a tradition and a blessing in so many ways, was now theirs. He'd heard so many things about it, but never did he think he'd unite with someone in this way. That is, he didn't think so until he met... him.
Aoba, the person he loved.
Aoba, the person he fiercely protected.
Aoba, the person who said his face wasn't strange.
Aoba, the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.
Aoba... Aoba...
Clear remembered proposing to him on the veranda, getting down on one knee after having sung for him, giving him his devoted love in verbal form, and pulling that little white box out of his pocket. He was so amazed and overjoyed when Aoba had accepted it, accepted him, and despite some quarreling over wedding attire (don't get them started on Clear's willingness to wear a dress), everything had gone over flawlessly.
Well, it went over as flawlessly as it could with Noiz initiating a food fight with Koujaku. That was a fun (???) time no one would forget.
...
He was just so happy, so happy as he led them both to where they were staying for the night. Normally, Clear couldn't afford much, but just for tonight, he'd managed to get them a room in a place that held so many memories for them. Glitter. Since Toue's usurping, the place had been fully remodeled, made more humble, cute, and precious. There wasn't anything in the way of flashy, ornate decor like chandeliers and golden curtains, but it was still such a near and dear place to his heart. It might have been bittersweet in a way, but now...
Now they were consummating the beginning of a whole new life together. He doubted he'd remember the worst memories of this place very easily anymore.
Just before entering their room - renovated with a somewhat bigger bed, a king size - Clear paused, his tender smile reaching out to him. ]
Aoba-san... I just remembered something very important.
[ A beat. ]
May I carry you across the threshold?
